Anders parted his lips ever so slightly as calloused fingers reached up to brush against the bone of his cheek, prominent for lack of proper meals. He dared not breathe lest that hand faded into the cracked ceiling of his room always abrupt and jarring.

He knew it was a dream. What he didn’t know that in the mornings an irate elf would sit up cussing in bed that he’d woken up too soon yet again.
